CEO of Floe Inc.

David Dellal is the founder and CEO of Floe, a hardtech startup spun out of MIT and Yale that’s redefining snow and ice management for rooftops and building exteriors. He led the development of Floe’s automated, data-driven system—a safer, more effective, and energy-efficient alternative to electric melting solutions and manual removal—through R&D at MIT and with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Cold Regions Research Engineering Lab, and via dozens of real-world pilot deployments. Today, Floe protects rooftops across North America for national retailers, leading commercial property firms, homes, and government agencies.

Dr. Dellal is an engineer and business leader with prior experience at technology and energy companies including Air Liquide, as well as several early-stage venture capital firms. He is an inventor on multiple patents, has developed innovations featured by major outlets such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, and was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in Energy.

David holds a Ph.D. in engineering from Yale University, where he was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow, and a B.S. in mechanical engineering from MIT.
